Gold Laced Polish Chicks
The fanciest chickens we raise! Polish are known for the long feathers on top of their heads that make them look like they're wearing a wig. See the Meet the Birds page for photos of our adults. Polish are easy to handle and make great pets, plus they are good layers of medium white eggs. Gold Laced means they have gold colored feathers outlined in black. Roosters will have a greenish cast to the black especially around the tail. Quite striking! Straight run, $5 each. |
Delaware Chicks
Delawares are our absolute favorite breed of chickens here at the farm! Once critically endangered, this heritage breed is making a comeback. The hens lay lots of large to extra large brown eggs and stay productive for years, unlike many popular laying hybrids. Originally developed as a meat breed. White feathers make for a clean looking dressed bird, and extra roosters produce the most flavorful chicken you've ever tasted. $4.00 each. |
